Some monitors under some systems sport an unusual feature: When an Icon is dragged very close to the bottom of the screen it slips just below the edge of the desktop hiding the written name from view. Problem is, I'm not sure what exactly makes one monitor do this and another not do it. Try it now if you can. If it works, read on. If not, skip this file.
These Icons are specially designed to exploit this potentially very cool "feature." Place one on an alias of an application, drag it to that area (with your snap-to-grid turned on) and it will appear as a simple buttondown there. So you get all the benefits of Icons hanging around the desktop without all those ugly labels marring the view.
These Icons are made from simple button shapes with ics8's from various applications worked into the designs. Since you probably don't use the same applications I use many of them will be of no use to you, butwith ResEdit it's easy to make your own. The applications I happen to have Icons for are:
Microsoft Word
Photoshop
Claris CAD
Quark XPress
Compact Pro
Norton Utilities
Adobe Illustrator
Cadmover
Sculpt 3D
JAG
Painter
FileMaker Pro
Address Book
and one that looks like a pack of Camels, and another that I attatch to an alias of the Monitors Control Panel.
Some you may like so much you'll use 'em anyway, so I've included them all.
